Seeking Artists for Rink Recycled Arts Show! Fee Lowered!

You may have heard about our Recycled Arts Show at Rink Gallery in March. What you may have not heard is that we have lowered the entry fee and extended the entry deadline!

Please contact us as soon as possible to reserve a spot, but do not think that you are too late!

Here is the important info about the show:

Participating artists must incorporate at least 50% recycled materials into their work for the show. It can include 3-D or 2-D art as long as it helps represent and encourage recycling and creative repurpose through art.

The fee to partipate was $20 and has been lowered to $10 which will go toward advertising, promotions, food for the event and workshop supplies.

Rink Gallery takes 5% commission on sold pieces.
(Keep in mind that this is a very low commission and that there are no hidden fees or commission that will go toward either Stephanie, myself, or to our Reuse Art Oklahoma Resource project!)

The show opens March 7th and stays up thru March 30th.
(That's a whole month for your art to be seen!)

The opening artists reception will be that Friday night, March 7th, from 6-8pm and artists are encouraged to come back Sat if they are able to help participate in the fun workshops.

We will also host a free recycled workshop to the public on Saturday, March 8th, where we will do demos and allow people to make and take their own recycled crafts.

All of our shows are about promoting local artists and providing free workshops to the public to promote creative recycling.

Anyone interested can contact and send images to Stephanie or Kelli through email or stop by Rink Gallery and ask for us.
Space is limited, so submit soon!

What is ROAR?

ROAR is a group of scavengers and artists hoping to help be a part of a “greener” Oklahoma. We strongly encourage creative reuse/repurpose and hope to create a resource where artists, crafters, teachers, and whoever else, can find great inexpensive or even free items to creatively use for projects, etc. Our plan for 2008 is to operate a creative reuse center that provides low cost raw materials for creative purposes and workshops for adults and kids. We also hope to host more events and create a space where folks tight on workspace can come and use our facilities for a rental fee.

Currently, Rink Gallery has been kind enough to provide space for our project. It works great, since an antique mall provides a wide supply of unique and surprisingly inexpensive items that are perfect for artists, decorators, and set designers. They also provide an art gallery in the front which allows us to host recycled arts shows.

If you would like more information about our art shows, workshops, volunteer opportunities, donations, etc., please email me us at reartoklahoma@yahoo.com.
